Syrah Santa Ynez Valley 2005 $22
This Syrah has a beautiful nose of spice and dark fruit; With an intense palate of blackberry, blueberry liqueur, nutmeg and cedar. Full-bodied and bone dry with tightly focused tannins. The finish is long with hints of tobacco and toasty vanilla.

Yes, It’s spicy, juicy and meaty; Bold and elegant flavors of black cherry, blackberry, spice and oak are thick on the palate. Dry and complex with supple tannins and a lush mouth-feel and yes it has a long spicy finish, drink now thru 2014.

Syrah, Mendocino, $22
Powerful, lush and peppery, but still elegant and very approachable. The palate opens with blueberry liqueur, black cherry, earth and soy sauce. The mid-palate brings black pepper and cedar with a bone dry, long finish, drink now thru 2012. This Syrah is another reason why I love this noble grape.

Syrah, Calaveras County, $19
Year after year Twisted Oak produces some great wine’s and this one does not disappoint. On the palate you get cassis, blackberry, chocolate and spice with restrained tannins. With notes of cedar, leather, and oak pushing forward on a long legged smooth finish. Drink now thru 2011.
